“The Story Keepers” are a super exciting series, telling the story of a Ben, a Christian leader, his wife Helena and his family’s adventures living in Ancient Rome His mission is to keep Jesus’s stories alive during the 1st century. Ben knew Jesus, as the boy in the Bible who shared his lunch with Jesus of 5 loaves of bread and 2 small fish. Jesus turned this boy’s lunch into enough food to feed 5,000 men, and many thousands more woman and children. There were even 12 large baskets of leftover bread and fish.
Ben is now an adult baker of bread and pastries, who tells others about Jesus in the city of Rome. Evil Emperor Nero, wants to kill all Christians in Rome, including Ben and his friends. These animated stories are very entertaining and well done.
“Breakout” (Episode 1) introduces Ben, Helena and the orphans they are taking care of. They make a new friend Cyrus, a street juggler. Cyrus and some of the Christian friends of Ben are arrested, and thrown into prison beneath the Circus Maximus. They must face the huge gladiator Giganticus. The stories of the feeding of the 5,000, Zachaeus and the raising of the daughter of Jairus are featured.
Hilda’s Mom, Elaine, Daniel, Hilda and I really like these shows. They give us an impression of what life for early Christians was like – exciting, dangerous, and people loving Jesus in spite of great persecution.
Suitable for ages 5 and up. Enjoy!
