God’s Perspective On Grief

This painting shows a sunny winter view from our highest window, above our back balcony. It is my second painting of 2023. Part 2 of 2 in “Perspectives on Grief.”

When our hope is in Jesus, we can believe His promise of eternal life with Him, and with our loved ones who love Him, for eternity.
Jesus said that in His Father’s house are many mansions. He is going to prepare a place for us, so that where He is, we will be also. Hilda is enjoying her mansion right now, prepared for her by Jesus. (John 14:2)
We can rejoice because our name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, which is required to have entry into Heaven. (Rev 3:5)

My sweetheart Hilda is out of the pain and suffering she endured during her last few weeks on earth. I often imagine her joy in Jesus’ presence, with friends around her, spending time enjoying her favourite pursuits.

Since you and I are still here, God still has a Kingdom purpose for us to fulfill.

If you love and obey Jesus, you will join your loved ones in Heaven with Jesus. So continue on the path God shows you, through your days filled with memories and tears. God loves you. He is with you. He sees your grief. He watched His only Son, Jesus, die. He will comfort you.

I wrote out these thoughts about grief on January 26th. That night, before bed, the Holy Spirit had me read and ponder this verse in Jesus’ Beatitudes from Matthew 5:4…

“Blessed are those who mourn,
For they shall be comforted.”

At 4:00 am the next morning (January 27, 2023), Jesus gave me a such a comforting personal message about Hilda and me together in Heaven. I was greatly reassured that everything about Hilda and me will someday be far better than I could have imagined. It was a message from Jesus that gives me so much joy and peace, and motivation to move ahead in this life. My longing for Heaven is so great, but I know there is still something for me to do here on earth.

I hope this encourages others who have lost a loved one. Trust in Jesus. He loves you! 🙂
For more great encouraging Bible verses about our hope of Heaven, thanks to our trust in Jesus, read 1 Peter 1:3-9.

Below is my first painting, “My Perspective on Grief,” with a view from a lower balcony level. It is Part 1 of 2 in “Perspectives on Grief.”
