Quotes to Ponder About Trusting God
By Ralph Tippin
The quotes below have been very personal to Barb and myself over the past years. God has shown Himself to us in marvellous ways. That is even in the midst of trials and physical challenges. These trials and challenges test our faith in God’s unfailing goodness. We continue to learn old lessons in new ways, trusting they will be points of teaching and sharing in the days and years ahead.
God is perfect. He makes no mistakes. He allows circumstances to invade our lives in order to grow us. Through them His glory will be displayed on the earth. I invite you to read these quotes – no! more than that – to ponder and meditate on them – to see what God is saying to you. I’m sure, as they are for us, they are to be considered and put into action if we want to bring Him pleasure.
“Self-pity is our worst enemy, and if we yield to it, we can never do anything good in the world.”
(Helen Keller, born both blind and deaf, but intelligent, with a destiny only God fully knew).
“When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, ‘God, if I don’t get anything else done today, I want to know You more and love You better.’ God didn’t put me on earth just to fill a to-do list. He’s more interested in what I am than what I do. That’s why we’re called human beings, not human doings.” (Rick Warren)
“Come into My presence. Come often. Stay long. Go filled!” (Father God Himself)
“I will arise and go forth in the name of the Lord of Hosts,
For He has conquered every foe by His name, by His name.
I will declare He is the Lord, I will trust and not be afraid,
I will arise and go forth by His name.”
(Words to a chorus)
“And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not.” (Deuteronomy 8:2 NKJV – the test of trusting)
“The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.”
(Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV)
“Greater is He (Jesus) that is in you than he (Satan) that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4 KJV)
